To Giants

Well I guess theres no mistaking the sound of Chicane, and while they (he) may flutter in and out of greatness and occasional mediocrity theres usually a time and place where the sound fits in well with lifes living moments. Theres much vocal through this album for me as I always enjoyed the music of Chicane with the vocal embellishments - though they have their place here too. I enjoyed it a lot, and its pretty much what I expected. Today however, the world has changed since the days of 1997 and "Far from the maddening..." Trance was its height then and some immensely beautiful music was bursting across our airwaves. Today, its all in your face RNB, autotune microphones and bizarrely dressed freakish "pop" stars. An album like this will twinkle as a distant star before it fades away behind a cloud. Theres just not enough beautiful melodic music getting airplay and this will most certainly suffer from that. But, I liked it, and I can see myself playing it many times at home and away...
